
Mats Boehnke

Athletic Director and U12 Head coach
Originally from Carson City, Nevada, Mats Boehnke developed a deep connection to skiing from an early age, influenced by his family's strong ties to the sport and coaching. He began his racing career at Diamond Peak and continued competing at the collegiate level for the College of Idaho, where he earned a degree in Political Economy.
Driven by a passion for athlete development and youth mentorship, Mats returned to Diamond Peak to begin his coaching career. He is widely respected for his emphasis on technical fundamentals, athletic growth, and the mental aspects of high-performance sport. In 2018, his dedication and expertise led him to the global stage as a coach for the U.S. Women’s National Tech Team at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
Today, Mats leads the Diamond Peak Ski Team as Athletic Director and U12 Head Coach, where he applies his extensive experience to guide the program’s overall vision and day-to-day coaching. His leadership reflects a balance of high-performance standards and a strong focus on athlete well-being, personal growth, and team culture. Mats lives in Incline Village with his partner, Lindsay, and their two children, Wyatt and Essie, continuing to share his lifelong passion for the sport both professionally and personally.
