U14 Alpine

U14 Alpine

12 and 13-year-olds

Program Overview

The U14 program, tailored for athletes progressing from the U12 Alpine Team and those aspiring to pursue competitive Alpine Ski Racing, aims to further refine racing skills and fundamentals learned in the U12 level.

This team focuses solely on Far West races, with a training program encompassing gate sessions, skill drills, and guided free skiing, aiming to advance athletes' racing capabilities and prepare them for further development within the U14 Team.

Maintaining a U.S. Ski and Snowboard membership under the U14 category is mandatory for all athletes in this program.

Program Schedule

The U14 program operates from late November to late April, offering sessions five days a week, including Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM, as well as Saturdays, Sundays, and designated holidays from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Pre-season dryland training is available on select dates from September to November.

For detailed information regarding dates and pricing, please refer to the registration page.

Required Equipment

Families must provide specific equipment for the program, which includes skis suitable for Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G, with recommended options for both racing and training skis, along with properly fitting race boots ranging between 70-110 flex, GS and SL poles with pole guards, a hard-ear helmet with an FIS sticker, goggles featuring multiple lenses, waterproof gloves, shin guards for SL, and the option of a back protector for additional safety. Additionally, athletes are recommended to have a Speed Suit with an FIS patch, as well as a ski backpack and water bottle for training sessions.

The Diamond Peak Ski Team offers team jackets available through a seasonal lease or purchase program. It's advised that athletes and families consult with coaches regarding equipment to ensure proper sizing before purchasing, and all gear must be approved by coaches prior to on-snow training sessions.
