Petra Plajbes’ Bio
September 29th, 2009 by MichaelPETRA PLAJBES
Petra hails from Slovenia. She comes from a ski family; her father has been coaching at club and national team level in Slovenia for the past 42 years. She was picked as a 10 year old to the national development team. She spent the next 8 years as a member of the (then) Yugoslavian Ski Team. In 1990 she came to Sierra Nevada College on a ski scholarship. She competed for SNC for the next four seasons until graduating in 1994.
This will be Petra’s second season “back in the business” after an extended break. She returns to coaching not only with experience of a former racer and coach, but also equipped with a new perspective of a parent. She believes that skiing should be fun and enjoyable as well as a valuable teaching experience of life lessons.
She lives in Incline Village with her husband, Kevin Holm, and two daughters, Sophia and Julia who are both members of Diamond Peak Ski Team.
