J1/2 FIS Coach, Diamond Peak Ski Team
Originally from Slovenia, where he raced successfully on FIS and Europa Cup circuits for the Slovenian/Yugoslavian National Ski Team for seven years, Vojko came to the USA in 1991 on a ski racing scholarship from Sierra Nevada College. He won the USCSA National Championship title in giant slalom in 1992 and placed consistently in the top three in SL and GS in championship races from 1992 to 1995. He graduated from SNC with a degree in Business Administration in 1995.
Vojko has been a great role model and valuable asset for the Diamond Peak Ski Team since 1999. He has coached and developed top racers in the Far West J123 and J45 programs, consistently qualifying racers for the Topolino Shoot-Outs and J12 and J3 Junior Olympics. Several of his racers have competed successfully at the US Nationals, NorAms, and FIS-level events, and have received ski racing scholarships at NCAA- and USCSA-level colleges.
He lives in Incline Village, Nevada with his family ~ Margie and ski racer-daughter, Lila.
