Diamond Peak Girls Mine Gold at Mammoth

Diamond Peak Racers to Attend the Western J3 Junior Olympics/J4 Festival

After enduring and mastering a series of qualifying races and time trials, a trio of skiers from Diamond Peak Ski Team has earned top spots for a trip to the J3/4 Western Region Junior Olympics. J3 racer, Luca Genasi, and J4 teammates, Ty Sprock and Lila Lapanja, are poised to step it up again and go against the top J3s and J4s in the entire Western United States. Diamond Peak’s Alex Tanner also secured an alternate spot for the J3 men. The Western J3 Junior Olympics/J4 Festival is an annual event where the very best 12 - 14 year old USSA competitors from the five (5) Western divisions compete in Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom over four (4) days. Ski Team has a Sweet Weekend at Sugar Bowl

Ski Team Strikes Gold In Opener

Limited training due to the Tahoe Basin’s lack of snow and a very short, no-room-for-error course did not stop the Diamond Peak Ski Team’s J4s and J5s from impressive podium and top-ten finishes over the weekend at the annual Lynn Payne Memorial giant slalom races at Kirkwood on Saturday and Sunday, December 16 and 17. First Tracks

The J5 skiers headed over to Boreal last weekend to get a little ’snow-time’ prior to Diamond Peak opening up. Drills, drills, drills. It was good to get back on the snow!

Racers End 2006 Season in Mammoth

Mother Nature showed up in full force at the Far West J4/J5 Championships, held March 30 through April 2 at Mammoth Mountain, creating extremely challenging course conditions for the 400 racers participating.
