The masters started the weekend with two SL races on Friday Jan 8 at Heavenly Valley.
Margarethe Richter, was second the first race then came back and won the next race.
Reinhard had a forgettable first race then finished third the second race in class ten.
Brian Smith had a second and a third in class eight.
In Class six, Garry Gladstone, after two good days of training at Diamond Peak, finished third in both races.
Heinrich Klobuczek started with the tough men’s open seed in the first race and then won the class five in the second race.
Squaw Valley SL’s on Saturday and Sunday, Jan 9 & 10.
Brian topped the class eight on Saturday then had a forgettable Sunday race.
Heinrich placed second in class five both days.
Margarethe won class ten on Sunday and Reinhard was third in the mens class ten.
J3 highlights, Sugarbowl SL’s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Jan 9, 10 & 11.
Saturday: Hannah Johnson led all the Diamond Peak Girls with a nice fifth place finish.
Ian Reeves led all the DP boys.
Sunday: Julia Bjorkman took over and led all the DP girls with a 6th place, Hannah in at 10.
Gavin Chin led the DP boys in with a solid 14th place.
Monday: Julia again led the girls with a 5th place finish with Hannah close behind in 6th.
This time Zane Bensing led all the boys in with an 18th place finish.

After taking third place overall for in the 2008/2009 season, Diamond Peak’s J4/5 skiers are poised to be contenders again. The J4/5s got off to a great start for the 2009/2010 season, with a handful of top ten finishes at the Tech Kombi at Boreal on December 19 and 20th. “It was a great start for all DPSEF athletes,” said head coach Josee Lacasse. “I am very excited for the upcoming season!”
On the event’s first day, the DPSEF J5 girls came in strong with Belle Johnson taking 6th with a combined time of 1:49.47. Laurel Taylor had a combined time of 1:54.20 which put her in 8th place, and Anya Bensing took 13th, with 2:02.46 on the clock.
The boys were just as impressive. J5 Winston Pretti took first with a combined time of 1:38.98 and another DPSEF J5 rounded out the top ten: Daniel Dolimpio finished with a combined time of 1:51.39.
During day two of the event, Belle Johnson climbed into 4th, with a combined time of 1:49.14. Laurel Taylor also bested her place from the day before, taking 7th with a combined time of 1:56.48. Anya Bensing had a combined time of 2:01.86 to put her in 8th. Winston Pretti secured second with a combined time of 1:43.92. Daniel Dolimpio moved to 7th with a time of 1:51.74.
The older skiers were not to be outdone. On Saturday, J4 Hannah Laurel came in 8th with a combined time of 1:43.61 and Erica Kennedy placed 9th with a combined time of 1:43.76. Amanda Pretti came in 10th with a combined time of 1:45.08 and just behind her, Alyssa Kennedy came in 11th with a combined time of 1:47.91. Also in the top 15, Lauren Keller took 13th with a combined time of 1:52.74. For the J4 boys, Nelson Bedient 6th was the top DPSEF skier, with a time of 1:40.20, just seconds ahead of Hunter Pitts, who took 8th with a time of 1:43.44. Mitchell Cornell rounded out the top 15, with a a time of 1:49.51.
On Sunday, Lauren Keller placed 5th with a combined time of 1:43.43, Hannah Laurel was 13th with a combined time of 1:46.81, Erica Kennedy came in 14th with a combined time of 1:46.95 and Amanda Pretti came in 15th with a combined time of 1:47.96. Hunter Pitts took 13th with a time of 1:44.77 and Mitchell Cornell 18th with a time of 1:46.50.
