RACE FOR THE DIAMOND! The Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation is proud to announce the 5th Annual Diamond Cup Challenge community fun race sponsored by the Menning Family. Proceeds from this popular, annual spring event (formerly known as the “Hyatt Cup”) benefit the DPSEF youth racing programs. Our annual Raffle drawing will also be held during the awards ceremony.
Race categories include: Individuals (age/sex groups), Family, Husband/Wife, Father/Son, Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, Mother/Daughter, Corporate Teams (of four), and Snowboard Individuals. Kids of any age, regardless of experience, and grandparents are also invited. Awards will be given to the top three competitors in each race/age category.
The entry fee is $20 per racer if received by Wednesday, March 12th and $25 on Friday, March 14th and day of race.Registration will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. , March 16th at the Diamond Peak Lodge.
The course is a dual giant slalom format on Lower Show-Off at Diamond Peak. The entry includes two runs on the “friendly” course, a BBQ luncheon, live music on the deck all afternoon, and the Awards Ceremony held after the race. Luncheon tickets for non-racers are also available for $10.
Race start order will be based on bib number, lowest to highest and will be dependent on order of registration, so EARLIEST REGISTRATION, LOWEST BIB NUMBER, EARLIEST START (or first come, first served!). If you wish to start at the same time as a family member or friend, we can only guarantee it if you both are on the same Registration sheet! Each racer must have a lift ticket or Diamond Peak season pass to participate. Discounted adult tickets are available on race day, with a portion of these ticket proceeds being donated to DPSEF by the ski area. Diamond Peak Resort also offers $30 all day tickets to skiers who hold season passes to any mountain in the U.S.A.
Race forms are available at the Diamond Peak Ski Team Race Shack and the Village Ski Loft, or you can download registration and liability forms. If you would like an entry form e-mailed or faxed to you, please send your request via e-mail mailto:dpskiteam@dpsef.org (write “Diamond Cup” in the subject line of your e-mail). Pre-register by sending a completed application and check for the entry fee to: Diamond Peak Ski Education Foundation, P.O. Box 5591, Incline Village, NV 89450.Applications can also be dropped off at the DPSEF Team Race Shack at Diamond Peak. All racers will be required to complete a Liability Release prior to competing.
